1. Our Commitment to Child Safety
KidzPAN is a parental control and child-safety application designed to help parents monitor, guide, and support their child's digital wellbeing. The service is intended for use only by parents or legal guardians, with monitoring enabled on a child's device under parental supervision.
We are committed to transparency and comply with applicable data protection and child privacy laws, including:
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA — USA)
- GDPR-K (European Union & United Kingdom)
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act (India)
- Privacy Acts of New Zealand and Australia
We collect and process data only to deliver core parental-control, safety, and reporting features.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Child Profile Information
- Child's first name
- Child's age
This information is used solely to personalise parental dashboards, goals, milestones, and progress tracking.
2.2 App Usage & Device Activity Data
To provide screen-time monitoring and parental controls, the KidzPAN Child App collects:
- App usage statistics
- Screen-time duration
- Device interaction events required to enforce restrictions
This data allows parents to:
- View usage summaries
- Set app limits
- Create routines and challenges
- Track goals and milestones
2.3 Notification Content (Sensitive Data)
With explicit parental consent, the KidzPAN Child App accesses and transmits:
- Notification message content (including text)
- The originating app name
- A unique child profile identifier
Purpose: To allow parents to monitor incoming alerts and messages on the child's device for safety and wellbeing.
Notification content:
- Is transmitted securely to KidzPAN servers
- Is accessible only to the linked parent account
- Is not used for advertising, profiling, or behavioural targeting
2.4 Location Data
The KidzPAN Child App collects precise GPS location data, including background location access.
Purpose:
- To support child safety and parental awareness features
- To allow parents to view a child's device location in the Parent App
Handling:
- GPS coordinates are securely stored in KidzPAN databases
- Location data is visible only to the authorised parent account
- Location data is never shared with advertisers or third parties
2.5 Accessibility Service Data (Sensitive Data)
KidzPAN uses Android's Accessibility Service to enable essential parental-control features, including:
- Monitoring app usage and screen interactions
- Preventing circumvention of app limits
- Enforcing device-level restrictions
Important Clarifications:
- Accessibility data is not used for advertising
- Accessibility data is not sold or shared
- Accessibility access is used strictly for child safety and parental control
2.6 Analytics & App Improvement
We collect anonymised and aggregated analytics data such as:
- Feature usage frequency
- Button interactions
- Session duration
- Performance and crash diagnostics
This data is used solely to improve app stability, usability, and future versions of KidzPAN. Analytics data is not used for targeted advertising.
3. Data Storage & Retention
3.1 Operational Retention
Data is retained only for as long as operationally necessary to deliver parental monitoring, reporting, and safety features. We follow data minimisation principles wherever feasible.
3.2 Parent Access & Control
Parents can, via the Parent App:
- View available activity, usage, and location information
- Export available summaries or reports
- Request deletion of the child account and associated data at any time
Account deletion permanently removes stored data from our systems, subject to short technical processing delays.
4. Verifiable Parental Consent
KidzPAN requires explicit parental consent before activation on a child's device.
Safeguards include:
- Consent confirmation during account setup
- System-level permission prompts requiring adult approval
- Parental Gate protections for sensitive actions
Children cannot independently modify privacy, monitoring, or permission settings.
5. Device Permissions & Controls
To function as a parental-control and safety application, KidzPAN may require access to:
- Accessibility Service
- Usage statistics
- Notification access
- Location permissions (including background access)
- Device Administrator privileges
- Background activity permissions
These permissions are mandatory for core functionality and are clearly explained during the setup process.
6. Third-Party Sharing
- We do not sell or rent child data
- We do not display third-party advertisements
- Data is shared only with trusted infrastructure providers for secure storage and processing
- Service providers are contractually restricted from using data for any other purpose
7. Future Features & Monetisation
KidzPAN may introduce optional paid features or partnerships in future versions, including enhanced safety or educational offerings. Any material changes to data usage will be accompanied by updated disclosures and, where required, renewed parental consent.
8. Your Rights
Parents have the right to:
- Access stored data
- Correct profile information
- Request deletion of data
- Withdraw consent by uninstalling the app and deleting the account
These rights apply regardless of geographic location.
